University

The USDF University program provides recognition for USDF members who strive to continue their dressage education through their participation in USDF educational programs. It also provides an accreditation structure for independently-organized events, allowing members to earn USDF credit for participating in accredited programs conducted by GMOs and other groups. Each year, during its annual convention, USDF Offers educational sessions for dessage professionals and enthusiasts of all levels. USDF accepts proposals for suggested topics. Topics must be submittted to the USDF office by February 1st on the appropriate form (PDF) .

USDF University Program online accredited courses:

The following courses are offered through Michigan State University's online program. These courses are ongoing and are university accredited.

Core Courses

• Horse Behavior & Welfare - 2 credit
• Horse Selection & Evaluation - 2 credit
• Horse Nutrition - 2 credit
• Horse Breeding and Selection - 2 credits

Short Courses

• Breeding for a Champion - .5 credit
• Preparing and Breeding your Mare - .5 credit
• Post-Natal Care - .5 credit
• Your Next Competition Horse - .5 credit

The following course is offered through Texas A&M University's Continuing and Professional Studies online program. This course is ongoing and is university accredited.

• Horse Production & Management – 11 credits

The following course is offered through Equine Nutritional Solutions online program. These courses are ongoing and are university accredited.

• Neurological & Muscular Disorders – 11 credits
• Understanding Blood Work – 11 credits
• Nutrition as a Therapy – 11 credits
• Cushings & Insulin Resistance – 11 credits
• NRC Plus – 11 credits
• Nutrition for the Performance Horse – 11 credits

The following courses are offered through Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute online program. These courses are ongoing and are university accredited.

• Overview of Traditional Chinese Medicine - Equine - 5 credits
• Meridian Theory - Equine - 5 credits
