Dover Medal Competitors and Show Management

Second Level Award Only

Score Requirements for the USDF/Dover Adult Amateur Medal Program.

  • The USDF/Dover Medal will be presented to the highest scoring second level adult amateur who meets the eligibility requirements above and has obtained a score of at least 58% in the designated second level test three or applicable test of choice class.
  • The USDF/Dover winner will receive a handcrafted pewter USDF/Dover Medal and neck ribbon at the competition, in addition to a $20 gift certificate from Dover Saddlery for each of the first three USDF/Dover Medals won during the 2008 competition year.

USDF/Dover National Merit Award

  • A USDF/Dover National Merit Award will be presented to every rider who wins three USDF/Dover Medals in the 2008 competition year.
  • National Merit Award winners will be presented a National merit award.
  • A press release will be disseminated to the hometown newspaper and regional equestrian media.
  • Winners must return the tracking form to Dover Saddlery within 30 days of the competition. Failure to return the tracking form within 30 days may affect a competitor's eligibility for the USDF/Dover National Merit Award and their national ranking.

USDF/Dover Adult Amateur Medal National Champion and Reserve Champion

  • All riders qualifying for a USDF/Dover National Merit Award will be eligible.
  • The 2008 USDF/Dover Adult Amateur Medal National Champion will be the rider with the highest average of their top three scores (must be second level test three rides) of their USDF/Dover Adult Medal winning rides during the 2008 competition year.
  • Reserve Champion will be awarded to the rider with the second highest average of their top three scores (must be second level test three rides) of their Dover Medal winning rides during the 2008 competition year.
  • The 2008 USDF/Dover National Champion will receive a $1000 Dover Saddlery gift certificate and a Jaguar dressage saddle. The Reserve Champion will receive a $500 Dover Saddlery gift certificate and a Jaguar dressage bridle.
  • The USDF/Dover National Champion and Reserve Champion will be presented at the 2008 Adequan/USDF Annual Convention in Denver, CO.

Eligibility for USDF/Dover Adult Amateur Medal Program

  • Rider must be a current USDF group, participating, or intercollegiate/interscholastic member at the time the medal is awarded.
  • No membership required for the owner of the horse.
  • Horse need not be USDF Lifetime registered.
  • Rider must possess a USEF Senior Amateur card or USEF Non-Member Amateur card at the time the medal is awarded.
  • Horse, rider, and owner must meet minimum competition eligibility requirements at the time the scores are earned.

New for 2008: Rider MUST ride Second Level Test Three in the designated class.
