These awards are to recognize adult amateur riders as defined by USEF. Horses and riders are considered pairs for each level (Training through Grand Prix).

Training, First, Second, Third, or Fourth Levels

  • Must have a minimum of eight scores:
    • From four different judges
    • From four different competitions
    • Including two at 58 percent or higher from highest test of level
  • Median score of 60 percent or higher to qualify

Prix St. Georges, Intermediate I, Intermediate II, or Grand Prix

Eligibility

  • Must have a USDF Participating Membership (PM) when scores are earned.
  • Confirm that you are listed with USDF as an adult amateur by September 30 of the award year. This must be done yearly, even if you are a life member. Competitors may check their status by checking the adult amateur list.
  • Meet the USEF dressage definition of adult as of September 30 of the award year. A competitor is an adult from the beginning of the calendar year in which he or she reaches age 22. For Adequan®/USDF Year-End Award purposes a rider’s status is determined on September 30 of the award year. If a rider is a dressage adult amateur on September 30, all scores earned during that competition year will count towards adult amateur awards.
  • Owner must have a USDF PM or Business Membership (BM) when scores are earned.
  • Birth date must be on file with USDF by September 30 of the award year.
  • Horse must have a USDF Lifetime Horse Registration (LHR) when scores are earned.
  • Membership and horse registrations begin when all application forms and fees are received by USDF. If joining USDF (including changing membership to participating status) or registering a horse at a competition, membership and registration begin the date of the application. This date must be in accordance with USDF/USEF dressage division rules.

Recorded Scores

  • All eligible scores are recorded, however, only the top two scores from each individual judge will count towards the median score calculation.
  • The median score is the score exactly between the highest and lowest scores.
  • Freestyle scores are not eligible.

  • All award winners will receive personalized certificates sponsored by Adequan®:
