Full-time Position(s):

Competition Assistant

The United States Dressage Federation, a non-profit equine organization focused on the sport of dressage, has an immediate opening for a full-time, hourly competition assistant. The applicant must possess excellent data entry skills; provide exceptional customer service; have good written and oral communication skills; must be detail-oriented and versatile; must be able to work independently, as well as in a team environment; provide administrative support to the department and must be able to multi-task, while meeting assigned deadlines. The applicant must also possess proficient computer skills including database management and competency in all Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Accurate data entry of competition results into the USDF database
  • Communicating and verifying with competitors and show management regarding eligibility requirements.
  • Assisting with shipping, sorting and receiving of materials for events
  • Assisting members and directing phone calls and emails
  • Providing administrative support in the following areas, including, but not limited to:
    • Interfacing with key volunteers, members, competition management and staff in support of all aspects of USDF championship programs
    • Creating and maintaining databases
    • Creating templates, forms and evaluation documents
    • Statistical analysis and data entry
    • Providing web-based and record-based research
    • Providing research and analysis for special projects
    • Maintaining and updating website information related to programs
    • Scanning of documents
    • Data entry
  • Familiarity with current USDF program rules.

The candidate should have an equine background. Preference will be given to a candidate with dressage knowledge, and experience and familiarity with USDF and USEF rules. Salary is commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical, as well as a generous vacation and holiday schedule.

Education Department Assistant

The United States Dressage Federation, a non-profit equine organization focused on the sport of dressage, has an immediate opening for a full-time, hourly Education Department Assistant. The applicant must possess excellent customer service, written and oral communication skills; must be detail-oriented and versatile; must be able to work independently, as well as in a team environment; and must be able to manage projects and multi-task, while meeting assigned deadlines. The applicant must also possess proficient computer skills including database management and competency in all Microsoft Office applications.

Education Department Assistant Job Description:

The Education Department Assistant is responsible for supporting the Education Department staff and the programs they facilitate. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a wide range of administrative support related activities and will be able to handle a diverse workload. This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, resourceful and efficient. Expert written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail are required, as well as a high level of professionalism and customer service.

Key Job Duties Include:

  • Prepare letters, memos, and other documents using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software.
  • Enter and retrieve information contained in computer databases, update records and files, and answer inquiries from members.
  • Coordinate meetings, produce minutes, and provide support for meeting follow-up.
  • Interact with outside vendors, clinicians, and other entities in support of educational initiatives and events.
  • Operate standard office equipment other than computers.
  • Create and maintain computer and paper-based filing and organization systems for records, reports, documents, etc.
  • Compile, copy, sort, and file records of office activities, business transactions, and other activities.
  • Organize and ship information and materials for programs and events.
  • Track inventory of awards, program-specific materials, general office supplies and ordering as needed.
  • Assist members and direct phone calls.
  • Support website development of educational content.
  • Support Social Media initiatives.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent computer skills including a familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel. Photoshop and Adobe Premier editing software a plus.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Detail oriented

An equine background and/or dressage knowledge and familiarity are a plus but are not required. This is a full time hourly position and salary is commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical, as well as a generous vacation and holiday schedule.
