Competitors Council

Mission

To provide education and an organized voice for competitors of all levels.

Goals

  1. Provide educational material for riders.
  2. Review United States Equestrian Federation rules and rule change proposals.
  3. To provide an active and organized voice for competitors of all levels to be heard by competition management, judges and the USDF, with the intention of improving communication and continued facilitation of better showing experiences.

Objectives

  1. Liaise and communicate to other Councils and Committees regarding issues arising at competitions throughout the competition year.
  2. The council will consult with the Adult Education Council when Margaret Freeman presents the outline of a combined Guide for Riders New to Dressage and Spectator’s Guide to Dressage.
  3. Determine criteria and budget for Regional Competition Awards.
  4. Prepare an article promoting evaluation usage, including a sample of the historic spreadsheet and explanation of the distribution.
  5. Research developing DVD for utilizing at competitions for new competitors.
